The power of God for salvation
God calls us not to be ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes (Romans 1:16). The gospel is the only thing powerful enough to save people from eternal separation from God. We need to open up to God, allowing Him to reveal to us the power of the gospel in our own lives. God does not want our religion, He wants a relationship with us where He can reveal Himself in and through us.
God has given us the Holy Spirit, who fills us and empowers us to do what God has called us to do. The main reason we have the Holy Spirit is to be a witness. He empowers us to share the gospel (Acts 1:8). The beauty of this is that God desires all people to be saved (1 Timothy 2:4), meaning that He is relentless in His pursuit for every individual, and He will work through you the moment you obey. As ambassadors of Christ we carry the message of the gospel, the only message that can save people. Do you love people enough to share the gospel with them? The waiting time is over, the Holy Spirit has been given, we need to go. We need to ask God to give us His heart for people. There are people you see everyday who do not know Jesus. You have the opportunity to share with them the love of God, and see there lives transformed.
The power of the gospel is in the simplicity of the gospel. It’s not about how much you know, it’s about how much you obey. It is time for all believers to be obedient to fulfill the great commission, to go and make disciples (Matthew 28:19). Jesus said that if we follow Him, He will make us become fishers of men (Mark 1:17). If you are not fishing for men you are either not following Jesus in obedience, or Jesus was lying, and He is not a man that He would lie. You have a God given purpose to make disciples, that is a general call for all believers. God has called you to make disciples, don’t allow the enemy to steal from you. Be bold, take a step of faith, trust God, be obedient and go. You are ready!
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.”
Romans 1:16 ESV
Outreach Internship 2019
Outreach internship exists to equip believers to share the gospel, and to identify individuals who has an evangelistic gift and raise them up to function as evangelists in their local churches. Equipping them to raise the banner of evangelism, and empowering them with the necessary tools to be able to equip others to share the gospel.
This year outreach internship was in a town called Stellenbosch, in the Western Cape province of South Africa. From the 25th of April till the 5th of May 2019 we were equipping believers to share the gospel while daily going out on the Stellenbosch University campus sharing the gospel with students. God touched so many lives as we saw more that 700 people making a commitment to follow Jesus. All we did was share the simplicity of the gospel, and God’s word proved to be true. That the gospel is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes. We don’t need to add to the gospel to see people respond to Christ. All we need to do is share the simple gospel that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23), the wages of sin is death, BUT the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord (Romans 6:23). If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and you believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved (Romans 10:9).
We were equipped with an amazing tool called Jesus at the Door by Scott McNamara the founder of Jesus at the Door Ministries. This tool is powerful and effective to equip every believer to share the simplicity of the gospel. The beauty of this tool is that you are fully dependent on the Holy Spirit to reveal Himself through the simplicity of the gospel. It is not in your presentation but the power of God for salvation is in the gospel. This tool will equip you to be able to share the gospel with confidence as you step out in obedience.
Evangelism is about how out of control you can get, it’s giving up all control so that He can have full control.
You are ready!
If you are a disciple of Jesus Christ you are ready to make disciples, disciples make disciples. A disciple is someone who lives by personal conviction of who Jesus is, based on biblical truth and reproduces it in others. Remember that it is not about how much you know, but about how much you obey. Spiritual maturity does not qualify you to make disciples, spiritual progress qualifies you to make disciples. Don’t believe the lies of the enemy, trust God. All you need to do is be bold, take a step of faith, trust God, be obedient and go.
“And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.“
This scripture tells us that all authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Jesus. The enemy has no authority. All authority belongs to Jesus. That means that nothing can stop us from doing what Jesus told us to do, He sent us from a position of all authority. At the end of the verse Jesus assures us that we will not be doing this alone , but that He himself will be with us through it all. That means Jesus is your partner in making disciples. You can’t ask for a better partner to help and guide you in making disciples. There is no reason for you not to obey the great commission. God has given you all you need to make disciples through His Holy Spirit living inside of you.
Practical steps for you to make disciples: Keep growing in you personal relationship with God, by remaining in the word, remaining in prayer and remaining in family. Grow in your understanding of biblical truth by focusing on the gospel and biblical foundations while obeying what you learn. It’s not about how much you know, but about how much you obey. Engage people and share the gospel with them (you can use Jesus at the door as a tool, hit the link below for training). Establish biblical foundations in people lives and help them grow in their relationship with God. Equip people to share the gospel and to minister to others. Empower every disciple to go and make disciples. You are ready! Go and make disciples.
Big thank you to all my partners. I love all of you. You are part of God’s work through me, every fruit and everything I do is thanks to you. Without you sending me to do what what God has called me to do, none of this would be possible. Thank you for partnering in expanding the kingdom, reaching lost and making disciples.
